Algoriddim launches Djay Pro, a new professional-grade app for DJs with an iPad Pro
DJ software and hardware company Algoriddim has launched a brand new Pro version of its popular Djay app for iPad.
Founded out of Munich, Germany, in 2006, Algoriddim has built a solid army of fans on iOS and Mac, with slick DJ-ing apps that let you mix from your Spotify library in addition to your own digital collection. The company launched its first Android app last October, which was followed soon after by a brand new Pro version for Mac.
The Djay Pro for iPad is, as its name suggests, a professional-grade app for DJs. But more than that, it has been built specifically with Apple’s new iPad Pro in mind and claims to leverage the superior video and audio capabilities of Apple’s new tablet.
The new app lets users mix up to four audio tracks, supplemented by two simultaneous 4K-quality video streams and HD video output at 60 frames per second (FPS), and also works with Apple’s smart keyboard, bringing 70 keyboard shortcuts to the mix (pun intended). Djay Pro tries to bring the functions and features of the desktop experience onto tablets.
The app also works with iOS 9 multitasking, meaning you can open and interact with other apps on the iPad without leaving the digital decks, and you can even activate split-view.
Djay Pro will normally cost $30, but for launch it will set you back $20 — double that of its existing iPad app, Djay 2 — and there’s no upgrade option for those who’ve already shelled out for the “lesser” version. This is a brand new, standalone piece of software with its own App Store listing.
